Pilates Information:

    What is Pilates?

Pilates is a full body low impact exercise with the emphasis on breathing, alignment and developing a strong core (commonly known as your powerhouse) to help improve your balance, co-ordination and reduce risk of injury in everyday tasks.

Clinical Pilates can be modified from beginner level through to advanced, this makes it a form of exercise suitable for the professional sportsman through to the elderly where it can help immensely to maintain or improve independence.

Pilates can be tailored using equipment eg: reformers, Cadillacs, small equipment, or just bodyweight.  At HealthZone we offer one on one Pilates, to assist you in your rehabilitation following an injury, surgery, or for general conditioning and strengthening.

Colleen is a fully trained, experienced Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor.
