Mark Overington

  • BHSC (Physiotherapy)
  • Post Grad Diploma (Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy)

After years of being a carded athlete with yachting, training and on the odd occasion being a patient at the Millennium Institute, Mark now joins us on the other side of the treatment table. Mark has a passion for competitive sport, still competing internationally in the dynamic 18 foot skiff class.

Mark graduated from AUT in 2006 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy and began working in a private practice in Devonport. In 2011 he completed his Post Graduate Diploma (sports physio and manual therapy) and has now practiced sports physiotherapy in a variety of private practice locations around Auckland.

Mark has a keen interest in human biomechanics and how physiotherapy interventions can assist in preventing injuries as much as treating them. He has worked with a variety of top level athletes, and has also successfully treated patients with chronic conditions. He uses a variety of approaches and experience to get to the cause of injury or pain, combining techniques such as muscle balance, “Egoscue” (a postural based treatment method) and conventional evidence based sports physiotherapy. Mark is committed to taking people past the pain free stage and incorporating body maintenance into gym programmes and everyday life.

Mark aims to get your body moving as you were designed to, while having a few laughs along the way.
